Where your files live

Projects are plain folders in the app's sandbox container — no database, no library to corrupt. File ▸ Show in Finder takes you there.

The layout

~/Library/Containers/de.ausdertechnik.stageisyours/Data/Documents/Stage Is Yours/
  <Project name>/
    project.json settings, presenter, voice, angles
script.txt the script, yours to edit anywhere
    Scene/ your camera angle pictures
    Presenter/ the presenter photos
Voice/ the designed voice or your recording
    Build/
      speech/ every spoken sentence
stills/ the presenter placed into each angle
clips/ every filmed clip, ProRes 422 HQ (.mov),
                        and its 1080p enlargement, ProRes 422 (…-sr-1920x1080.mov)
plan.json which sentence goes in which clip
render.log what happened, step by step
    Movies/ every movie, HEVC at 20 Mbit/s (1080p)

Clips are kept in ProRes 422 HQ, and each one's enlargement to the movie's size in ProRes 422, so the movie is made from them without a second lossy step — about 120 MB per five seconds of film together. Movies are HEVC. For an editor, Export… also saves ProRes 422.

Safe to edit by hand

  • script.txt — plain text. Edit it anywhere; the app picks up changes.
  • Scene and Presenter — add or remove pictures.

Safe to delete

The Build folder. It holds only intermediate results, which the app recreates as needed. Deleting it frees space, but the next movie starts from scratch.

Models live in Library/Application Support/Stage Is Yours/models in the same container, shared by all projects — or on another disk you choose in Settings.
