Installing the models

Eight models, downloaded once from Huggingface and kept on your Mac. After that, the app never needs the network.

The Models window

Window ▸ Models (⇧⌘M) lists every model by what it does, with its size and licence, plus downloads in progress.

    The models every movie needs. The optional ones follow below.

    Verified byte for byte against Huggingface. Delete a model from the menu.

What gets downloaded

  • MiniMax H3 (about 134 GB) — the film model. Generates every frame, with the presenter moving and speaking to the voice track.
  • FLUX.2 Klein 9B (about 27 GB) — places your presenter in each camera before filming.
  • Qwen3-TTS VoiceDesign and Base (about 4.5 GB each) — design a voice from a description, then speak the script.
  • Qwen2.5-VL 7B (about 6 GB) — reads your pictures and describes them.
  • Depth Anything V2 Small (about 50 MB) — keeps desks, chairs and audiences in front of the green screen.
  • Whisper large-v3 turbo (about 1.6 GB, optional) — checks every spoken sentence and has it spoken again if a word is missing.
  • Qwen3 4B Instruct (about 4.3 GB, optional) — drafts a script from your notes.

Allow about 200 GB of free disk. On first launch with nothing installed, the app offers to download everything. You can also start it any time from Window ▸ Models → Download All Missing.

Where it goes

~/Library/Containers/de.ausdertechnik.stageisyours/Data/Library/Application Support/Stage Is Yours/models/

This is inside the app's sandbox container. To use another disk, press Change… under Storage in the Models window.

When a download stalls

  1. 1 Check for free disk space — a full disk looks exactly like a stalled download.
  2. 2 Press Check Again (↻) in the Models window. Finished files are kept; only missing ones are fetched.
  3. 3 If a model needs its licence accepted, accept it on its Huggingface page, paste your token in the Models window, and try again.
