Designing the voice
Design a voice once and it speaks every sentence. Five minutes of listening is well spent.
The voice panel
Everything that shapes the voice is in one place on the Presenter page.
- 1

Design a voice with the controls, or clone a recording you may use.
- 2
Woman or man
The first choice the voice designer makes.
- 3
Style
News anchor, keynote speaker, teacher, storyteller and more.
- 4
Update the Voice
Designs the voice. Listen plays a sample; Try Another gives a new one.
- 5
Fine-tune
Pitch, pace, energy, warmth and clarity, each across its full range.
- 6
The description
Written by the controls, editable by you — this is what the designer reads.

The controls
- Woman or man, and age.
- Pitch — deep to high. Pace — slow to fast. Energy — calm to lively.
- Warmth — neutral to warm. Clarity — crisp to breathy.
- Style — news anchor, keynote speaker, teacher, storyteller, spokesperson or conversational.
- Accent or anything else — in your words: "slight Scottish accent", "smiles while talking".
Pitch, pace, energy, warmth and clarity sit under Fine-tune. The controls write the voice description below them — the text the voice designer reads. Edit it directly if you like. Suggest from the Photos lets the picture reader set the controls from the presenter's photos as a starting point.
Listen, then keep
- 1 Press Update the Voice, then Listen to the sample.
- 2 Not right? Move a slider and update again, or press Try Another for a new voice from the same description.
- 3 Happy? Every sentence of the script is now spoken in this voice.
Cloning a recording
Choose Clone, add ten to twenty seconds of clear speech — one speaker, no music, no room echo — and type what is said. The closer it sounds to the movie you want, the better.
Clone only voices you have permission to use. The Permission box on the Presenter page covers the voice as well as the face.
Languages
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese — the same voice in every one.
